Darindah by iqbal qazmi--narrator gets help from akbar whose turn it was to water his fields in the morning , narrator is given shelter, akbar tells him he had been questioned by three one of them a woman early that morning , their red car was crossing the university lane , akbar was told by her that her retarded brother was lost and if he seen anyone who matched the description, and since akbar had not met till then the narrator truthfully refused to have ever met him, but he did not actually believe her story, neither did he trust the narrator was telling him the truth, though akbar was uneducated he was smart and understood such incidents, the narrator tells him about his past, he was the witness of a murder, the woman in red car was one of the killers , who know him to be the witness

khawar is promoted to a higher position , more responsible than earlier one, he wears a red turban, he decides to go find out why shamina is behaving strange, the mother in the beginning does not allow them private conversation, finally reluctantly she lets shamina talk to him alone, shamina is nervous, her feet and hands are freshly hennaed, she cinfesses her attachment with pasha, outside home while leaving khawar is met by the eldest sister of her who takes appointment to meet him next day near the burial ground, but she does not appear to meet him as she had promised she had something of great importance to disclose , as the edition of this story ends she appears secretively at his residence asking him to save shamina from pasha

A beautifully descriptive story very well written by Ahmed Iqbal is a view of life from the point of view of a traveller who ends up from where he began, life seems to be going forward just by it self, spending , destroying every one else , though the protagnist - Akbar- is released from jail after fourteen years , he sees his father"s jewellery emporium turned fromjhurshid to new patiala emporium, he passes by like a mute spectator, he is thrown out from the but as he forgets to get up in time to get down at his stop, the villages have become cities, he from a twenty five year old young dashing man has changed into an elderly man of forty, ageing signs appear silently on his long beard, the word picture of life and situations, circumstances are accurately vibrant

Sarmad gets to see a notice with a picture of mahbano with a cell number underneath announcing a reward of one lakh to whoever informs about her whereabouts, he contacts them , reaches amir's house to find the nearby house wall had collapsed destroying amir's house , from the debris were pulled out two bodies understandbly those of amir"s mother and of the young relative --mahbano, for sarmad its a shocking news, he feels the reward clutched tightly in his hands slipping off
