-anya  returns  home  starving  , she  had  eaten just  two  pieces of  bread  slices  with  tea  before  leaving  for  university, at  home  she  found  her  mother  zakya  had  gone  to  see  her  sister  and  anya"s  khala  aunt  whose  sister  in law  was  not  well, the  other  two  siblings  were  at  home  asim and  amon, both  hungry  because  nothing  was  cooked  and  it  was  now  up  to  anya  to  feed  them, amon had  bunked  her  ckasses  and  the  mnaid  also  took a  holiday  that  day, before  leaving  urgently  zakya  their  mother  left  all the  burden  of  house  chores  on amon, her  holiday  was  a  disaster  and  so  many  vegetables   mother  had  dumped  on her  to  cook in handi  by  the  time  amon was  finished  with  the  house  the  cooking  pot  was  burnt  , anya  herself  tired  and  hungry  made  omlette and  two  thin chapatis  for  them and  served  their  flimsy  meal  , that  digested  the  moment  it  went  into  their  mouths, but  anya  had  no  strength left  to  knead  more  flour  and  cook a  proper  meal, she  slept  loke  a  log  till  late  , when she  opened  her  eyes  refreshed  it  was  dusk  and  in the  kitchen saljuk was  cooking  a  dish  with  chicken he  found  in the  fridge
