-when he returned home the morning azans were heard, he stepped into his room very quietly to find hena fast asleep in angles giving her peace , looking at her with wounded eyes he tried to sleep, around seven his sleep was shattered by authoritative interrogation where had he been all night,
-he wanted a cigarette , his packet was finished
-he opened his eyes sleepily to notice her lips stick was intact
-jamal did not know what else to explain,
-hena was in a fighting mood
-he no longer was a bachelor , he had a wife and family duties and roaming around like before was not right she began lecturing
-he was tired and needed to complete his sleep , she was fresh and rested but he had to leave for work by nine

charpai culture
-nostalgic scenes evoke in mind with the mention of charpai--those fresh clean cool bedsheets, old khus fans to lower the temperatures
-half baked in sun mud water containers so shapely and and proportionate singing surhais thirst quenching
-water sprinkled soil emitting heat and scent when the dust settled
-mango trees in summers in full swing of season loaded with naughty boys more than the hanging mangoes
--nestled amidst those sweet smelling canopies used to be charpais placed straight and tight like any youthful body
-during the day time charpais were used to spread out chess by the players and spectators all accommodated into the battle field
-at night the same charpai was turned from chess ground to dastarkhwan table inviting enticing temptingly all the family and friends to surround it
-housewives and other homely women used the charpai as the stepping stone to get on to a higher level to wipe the spider webs
-the mischief makers used the charpai as ladder to steal birds nests hidden in nooks and corners
from previous-
-he reached home by five evening and went straight to his room and fell on his bed tired not bothering to take off his shoes, his wife was in her room watching television , jamal had thought incorrectly that by now her mood must have changed and she would have completely come out of the hangover of their argument in early morning , that she would come asking him sweetly if he wanted tea combing her fingers in his hair caressing,, one hour passed and his mental stress level began to rise but she did not appear, he finally got up from his bed and went in to see her , she turned to throw just a casual glance at him and then again began watching her serial drama
