Taaqab
A story by Anwaar Siddiqui--The narrator on a sea voyage in his cabin reads at night, enjoying his book when he hears a light knocking on his door, disturbed he gets out from his cosy blankets, to his surprise there was noone , the corridor was empty, every time he goes back the recurring knocks get louder accompanied by sobs, he is finally able to detect the source of the disturbing sound, a man is on the deck asking his help to unknot the emergency boat as the stranger's woman friend has been killed, whose dead body was in the tiny boat, the narrator swoons, he wakes up to a sunshine filled cabin next day to greet the major and his family standing there looking amazed
