it is an incident from the past, during the rule of british raj a british officer was invited to participate in a urdu poetry recital function, he considered himself very honoured and claimed to follow every couplet, a simple couplet by Mir was read out to him

-Unn ki zulfon ke sab asir hue
the officer quicky interpreted--
it means , we al including him wanted to go to prison
