Muqaddar Ka Sikander

The narrator is awefully upset at his life taking strange turns, he blames himself and his wife Zulekha and the man who made him read the tips and magic charms in english from a book in his possession from long, Pathhar baba-The Stone Teacher gave his medicine to all those who needed his treatment, the narrator was poor , wanting to change his life style , to better it he alng with Zulekha goes to the Teacher, knowing the narrator was well educated he was asked to read out few tips ranging from blood pressure, breathing problems, heart diseases to harness the inner self to make it do whatever the practitioner wanted him to do for him, narrator is advised to wear-- as the book text was in english , written by an englishman , never before read and understood by the teacher who spoke only urdu , to wear--new fresh under garments, shirt, sweater, coat, trousers, matching neck tie, hat , socks and shoes before calling his own name in a secluded field where noone could disturb him, narrator cant afford these things and it is for the culture that lives in the cold climate, but he had to follow the rules, his wife sells off her jewellery and buys him all, dressing up properly wearing a very expensive perfume that was mentioned for perfect result to capture his self he calls his own self in the field, successfully , the result is seen in the appearance of his mirror figure approaching him from nowhere in particular, who asks what he wanted, narrator before giving him any instruction decides to return to the teacher, when narrator moves, moves with him his captured self image, at the same speed, maintaining posture, , the police catches the narrator for speeding up that he was doing to get rid of his self--humzaad, but the clever self drives away while the narrator is caught, released later, beaten up, joints trembling he comes to his teacher who is surprised to know about his being successful at capturing his self so quickly which the teacher also had never been able to do, but then the teacher bangs his head saying it was not his image but Akhtar Hasin whom the teacher instructed as well to go to the same field to capture his self image, and it must have been him who had shown up on his calling, both the narrator and Akhtar hasin thinking the other to be his own mirror image
