.....chaniya asked him looking at his face if he 2as starving, a nod from him confirmed  he wanted something to eat,  Chamberlin who was attentively  watching the scene  standing by the door rushed out and within minutes was back  with a small food tray  , there were  rotisserie and chicken gravy,  sweetened rice,  all that he swallowed  quickly  as if he had not eaten  for several days,  chmbeli picked up the empty  tray  and left,  chaniya sat watching him lost in her own thoughts,  and he  not  conscious of her presence  at all  embraced himself and turned on his side to go into deep tired slumber
