By Parvin Shakir--

Gathering  the  shouts  of  the  drowning
Pledging  destructive  plundering floods  to  stormy  winds

The  dead  pasted  like  moss on rocks
Soils  troubled  of  their  ploughing  owners
Trees  torn uprooted
Lusty  waters  thirstying  for  more

Drunk  with  children"s  dreams  -uncontent
Seas  frightful  dreadful remained

Fingers  of  rains  wiping  colonies
Slumbering  winds  angrily  joined  strong  tides

Hands  outstretched  from debris  of  each  house
To  catch  the  slippery  storm

Arms  tied  armlets  with  charms  on aligators
Folded  paper  prayers  found  in empty  caps

Snakes  breathing  fire  along  alarming tides
Terrors  of  forests  joined the  ruthless waves

Danceshof  horror   of  waters  on tunes  of  fright
Winds  composed  them all  for  revolting  seas
