--on the  phone  they  both  were  talking, max  and  ruth, he  was  calling  from a  hotel  , he  wanted  to  meet  them, inviting  them to  his  room,  but  instead  ruth asked  him to  come  home  to have  dinner,  by  eight  or  none  as  suited  him, shutting  off  the  phone  she  regretted, she  had  forgotten to  give  him her  home  address and  directions  to  reach there, she  did  not  have  his  phone  number, she  did  not  know  where  he  was  staying,  she  told  angus  who  was  thrilled  of  having  max  for  dinner  , he  had  so  many things  to  share
