Yeh Rishtey Apne Hain


The story by Lareb Momin opens in a joint family set up, the newly wedded bride is a a stranger still after her twenty five days of nuptial vows , the arranged marriage was fixed by her grandfather who died a month ago, when she was born her mother had run away from home discarding her to become an actress, seeing her third grade film her father shot himself, the reason she was brought up by her grandfather who sent her to a boarding school and when she longed for a home he asked her to complete her graduation, and Umar a surgeon known to the family was chosen as the right suitor for her, but the women in the in laws household hated her mother for her cheap behaviour , and decided like mother like daughter she too one day put them to shame, but her father-in law --abbu advises her to take up all the responsibilities of the woman, wifely duties, and become a neccessity to Umar, she starts by waiting for him late till he returns from his private clinic, to serve him hot meals, followed with a steaming cup of tea, in morning getting up before him to ready his clothes, bath and breakfast, surprising the husband who was so far doing all that himself
