the  story  opens  with the  narrator  sharing his  dilemma  , there  he  is  trapped  between the two  equally  unpleasant  officers--khalid  cheema  and  kamal aziz  for  whom he  had  to  work, he  was  rather  forced  to  work for  them, against  his  will, wish  and  desire,   , he  wants  them to  regret  their  decisions  as  much  as  they  want  his  descendants  to  remember  them,   its  a  war  of  will powers,
