kerry  gets  a  case   telephonically , the  caller  was  a  lawyer   whose  client  needed   kerry's  detective   agency's  help professionally, usually  he  took  fees  after  completing  the  case, but   mr  hummer  was  so  old  and  ill  he  accepted   three  fourth  --some  six  thousand  dollars  before  in advance  and  the  rest  he would   take  later, not  sure  if  hummer  will be  alive  the  next  morning  , his  condition looked  very  bad  , he  was  weak  and  fragile
