he  stood  there  before  the  door  was  opened   very  stiff, hesitant , the  woman  second  time  emerged  to  let  him in, the  room was  almost  in absolute  darkness, just  a  candle  light  flickered  to   keep  the  shadows  alive, adjusting  his  eyes  he  looked  around, there  was  a  bed  in a  far  corner, the  wind  was  very  strong outside, the  chimneys  whispered  hollow  sighs,  drowning  the  complete  silence
