Nik and julie were running a motel with restaurant next to their cottage for twenty years on the link highway between canada and america, as a rule they stayed in the office till late night, their three teenager children helped them in the business, they had a part- time help during summers when the season was in full swing, but in winters they needed to keep an accountant now with their middle ages , tiring them out, it was a harsh winter night when nik was winding up to go to bed that he saw a poorly young man george entering the office , he needed a single room to spend the night in less than half rate, with complimentary snacks --nik did not know him but the free tourist was a petty thief
