-the  petty  thief   hissed  he  was speaking  to  him , that  old  man, was he  deaf  and  dumb, life  was  difficult  and  he  should  not  make  it  more  impossible    saying  so  he  appeared  before  the  old  man  walking  back  home,  the  thief  wore  torn  denims  and  a  jacket,,  he  looked a  typical  petty   street   robber, the  thief  leaned  towards  the  bag  and  tried  to  snatch  it  but  the  old  man  turned  his  stick  around  and  hit  him on the  face, the  stick  was  part  of  his  hand and he  was  quite  used  to  using  the  stick  which  seemed  to  have  developed  a  personality  of  its  own  and  posses a  mind  of  its  own  and  spring  into  action  when necessary  like  on this  occasion
