The simple innocent narrative opens in a house hold where the narrator is soon to be married, she is advised by her more senior and experienced cousins how and what is expected from her after her marriage, she should try to control piya ka jiya -literally heart of the beloved , thinking how cruel people are on the sacrificial beasts and carve out their hearts to feed special guests , she thinks she wont be able to do it just to take control of her in laws house and family, the poor cousin bangs her head in sheer desparation -it means romance like in the movie-mughl-e-azam , the song pyar kiya to picturised on madhubala singing and showing her true feelings for dilip kumar playing salim, that the bride should in her new life do all that that would please them, making them depend on her, trust her , love her, allow them to become inseparable from her
