A message is brought by tajo a close confidante of the begum to the narrator, that he should avoid the next day"s fight arranged by Wali her husband between him and balaa, a distant relative of hers from her native village, believing the narrator to be stronger than balaal , this gives him immense pleasure and he feels the fight is won without fighting it, he sends a note to wali that his condition is still improving after the bee hive attack
