Riberts is a cotton broker and a rich businessman, he goes to see cotton fields , its his good fortune to have a glimpse of a beautiful young girl at the lake whom he compares to a mermaid, later he is invited to an exclusive evening party by a loathsome couple -Norris and his deadly wife , there he is introduced to norris's niece the same mermaid-jeanne, noone had actually ever met jeanne"s mother or father but norris claims she is his ward, surprised why only roberts and noone else is present at the party roberts enjoys the evening
