...it is said  hazrat Abu Harira  raza alay was asked by someone  whose father died without  leaving his will if he gave donations in charity on his  behalf  would that  cleanse his sins 

The babies salallahwaleeyaslam said definitely it would 

Hazrat  aisha Raza alay anaha  narrated a man approached the Nabi salallahoallaywasalum and asked if he could  donate  in charity  on his  mother's behalf who suddenly passed away without getting enough time to do it herself  , would that help him and his mother's soul in anyway,  , the rasool salallaoalaywasalam replied definitely it would help

The rasool salallahwaleeyaslam  instructed  each camel meat was added to the  huge pot and cooked and that was distributed and partakes
